Question

Slow Operation

Here are my Specs:
OS;"Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Edition - Build 19044"

Processor;"Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz"

Native Graphics Card;"Intel(R) UHD Graphics"
Added Graphics Card;"NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti"

Model;"XPS 15 9500"

# Physical Cores;"8"
# Logical Cores;"16"

1TB SSD

I work with a Sony A7 IV and shoot raw photos. Lightroom sometimes works ok and sometimes goes extremely slow. I have switched from having the graphics card on to turn it off (as was recommended by another post), it still runs slow.

Any thoughts?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We are here to help.

Could you please confirm the version of Lightroom you are working on? Is it Adobe Lightroom or Lightroom Classic? Go to Help > About Lightroom or Lightroom Classic to find the exact version number for the application.
Does it slow down when working with any specific tool or operation?

If you are working on Adobe Lightroom, is the sync enabled while working on images? You can pause the sync while you work, and before exiting the application, you can enable the sync and let it finish in one go before you exit the application.

If you are working on Lightroom Classic, there are a series of suggestions related to hardware & software optimization and other in-app operations you can do to optimize Lightroom Classic's performance in this article, and please give this a detailed read through: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html

We hope this helps,

Thanks!

Thanks Sameer!

I am not working in Lightroom Classic. I have updated the current version of Lightroom. It seems to do it a lot when adding a bunch of new images. But, it also does it at random times throughout the day.

Does lightroom classic optimize to your system better?
