Adobe Products seems slow/buggy on Win

Iam using almost daily Photoshop & Illustrator for work. But compared to apple, these two apps dont really work smothly as compared to macos. Overall experience feels slugish/slow and sometimes not well optimized... (Using an HP Omen laptop with Nvidia 4070 & i7 + 32gb of ram)

Any ideas or reasons why or ideas to improve performance?
And yes GPU & CPU is active while working with these apps.

The first potential issue might be the use of the integrated GPU that the Intel CPU has, instead of the 4070 to run these programs. Are you sure the 4070 is the one being used? You can open up Task Manager on the Performance tab side by side with Photoshop, then go to the crop tool and start rotating the view. Do you get a performance spike on the 4070 or the Intel GPU? Should be like this:

Yes just checked twice, GPU is being used while working. Eg. crop tool

Yes, as @D Fosse noted, the fact that the Intel GPU is getting any load % means it's also being used and could be causing issues. You can follow the steps outlined here (point 6 - configuring Photoshop & Illustrator to only use the Nvidia GPU, or if needed point 7 - disable the integrated graphics completely).

Forcing the Nvidia GPU without disabling the integrated graphics has worked fine for me for laptops in the past, but disabling it completely is likely the safest option to ensure you're always getting the best performance in all apps. Not sure how much it impacts battery life if that's a concern.

Absolutely instant and responsive here, on both Win 10 and 11..

With laptops two common problems are conflicting dual graphics, and insufficient disk space for the scratch disk.

A third, more diffuse, but also very common problem, is extra layers of software and modifications of OS and drivers. This is where the laptop manufacturer can put their brand stamp on the product. Very often this is directly aimed at gaming, because that's where the mass market is. Sometimes a thorough cleanup can help.

If you post Help > System Info from Photoshop, we might be able to spot something.
