Question

Deleting keywords/tags from pull-down list

I'm using Photoshop 2024 on an iMAC.  While editing photos I'm adding keywords/tags (not sure of the correct word).  I've edited about 800 photos recently and in doing so have created a lot of tags.  Now when I want to add a tag to a new photo, the list is long and I want to delete some tag words from the pull-down list.  I don't want to delete tag words from the photos I have already edited.  I just want to make the list shorter and delete tag words that I will no longer add to future files.  I could use assistance.

You might want to look into adding and removing keywords using Adobe Bridge instead:

I looked at Bridge but still don't see a way to delete keywords other than from an individual file.  I want to delete keywords from the pull-down menu as I add keywords in future files.  It seems that once you add a keyword to one file, that keyword can't be removed?  And I can't see keywords I have been adding recently, only old keywords.  Yet I know the keywords are there as I can see them when I look at files in Finder.  I don't want to change the keywords that are alread assigned to files -- I just don't want to see them when adding keywords to new files.  Not sure I'm wording this correctly.  Thank you.

Photoshop and Bridge both have File > File Info... What Bridge also adds is a dedicated Keywords and other metadata editing features for single or multiple files.

I don't know where Adobe store the File Info "suggestions" for management outside of File Info.
