Gradients not applying correctly when selecting a zone with magic wand

With Photoshop 26.1 gradients stopped being applied correctly (using the gradients sidebar) when selecting something with the magic wand and then applying the gradient (from the gradients sidebar)
The image shows what I mean
On the left here's the gradient applied using the magic wand without editing anything in 26.1
On the right here's the same gradient applied using the magic wand without editing anything in 26.0
