Hello:

Is there a way to group several actions in the actions window into one folder in photoshop? Similar to how you can group layers together? Here is a pic to hopefully convey what I mean. Thank you for all answers 🙂

Important terms/concepts to understand:

Action Set = A (latent) .atn file that can contain one or more Actions. This is graphically represented as a folder, but it's really a (potential, if saved) file.

Action = A "container" of one or more recorded/inserted steps which are stored in an Action Set.

So it's not possible to store an .atn file within an .atn file, as it isn't really a folder, it's a file.

I understand why Adobe originally visually represented an Action Set as a "folder", but it has lead to countless misunderstandings over the years with users wishing to store a "folder" inside a "folder" (it's not a folder!).
