Help with animating 2D images for a game

Hi Everyone,

Hoping someone can help me with this. My boss wants me to animate these two 2D images. Our company consists of skill games and slot games. So this would be on one of the game pages you would see when playing the game. I never learnt photoshop or any design programs in school so I am kind of learning as I go. I have tried to look for tutorials online that would help with this but cannot find exactly what I need. I think he would like the eyes, mouth and the arms and tools to move and the woman's bosom to heave (sorry the industry I work in lol). The pictures are of two coal miners. One a man and the other a woman. The man is all ripped and the woman is heavily endowed. They are both holding pickaxes and have part of their legs cropped out of the image. Can anyone give me detailed instructions of how to do this in an adobe program? Like really dumbed down, like step by step. I am a complete noob. Really appreciate the help!

It really comes down to how professional you want / need /can afford, the animation to be. There are a number of Adobe tools that can be used for these kinds of animations from simple to complex (and the complex ones will take quite a bit of effort to learn or expense to commission!) .

Hi @Ruth6C12 ,

I agree with @Derek Cross and @Nancy OShea .

That said, if you would like to do this in Ps, you can use Puppet Warp in Ps.

https://photoshopcafe.com/use-puppet-warp-tool-photoshop-tutorial/

Also check out Puppet Warp in After Effects. This will save you from having to build complex rigging.

good luck

Puppets as we call them are usually created in Photoshop or Illustrator and then brought into Character Animator to make the various parts move.  Please refer to this 1 hour YouTube video for details.

A better tool for this task might be After Effects or Adobe Animate (both these applications are part of the Creative Cloud Suite).

You can't expect detailed instructions on how to do this on a forum – you can get useful online video tutorials on LinkedinLearning (you can get 30-days free access):

You also need to think of the final output format.
