how can i improve this composite?

so i was merging this two pictures, only using solid color check layer i was able to match the face to the background, problem is the more the face was looking good the worst the other parts looked, the hair and jacket are too dark

now i know i can circumvent the problem by masking the face so the changes will only apply to face, but i'm not sure i would be able to do it considering i should isolate every hair from the face and with my current skills might take hours, any advice?

Is that really the best image you have of the lady you added?  There's nothing to work with.  The hair is a completely flat dark grey with no detail.  The face is over exposed and has too little colour.  I had a wee play with it, but it is still horrible.  My best advise is to find another picture of the lady to composite.

The dark tones in her hair and eyes look too flat and light. In the Properties panel for the Curves adjustment layer, that you have selected, you can use the finger with the arrows (just to the left of the channel dropdown that is currently set to RGB) to adjust selected colors. Click on her hair, keep pressing on the mouse, and drag downward. This approach will adjust the curves to darken her hair as well as any dark pixels on her layer. Use the same tool, click on her face, and move the cursor upward or downward as needed to make targeted adjustments there too. Notice in the Properties panel that the color of the selected color in the image corresponds to the curve with the point going up and down as you move the cursor.
