Question

How do I know when snap to grid is on or off?

Is there a way to show in the workspace whether or not "snap to grid" is on or off. Sometimes I want to move something and I don't want it to snap, so by using the shortcut, I will toggle it off. There is nothing on the top panel, within the workspace, that shows the snap on or off. It would be nice if there was. If there is, please show me. Thanks.

I'm not asking how to use "snap". I'm asking how come PS doesn't have an indicator on the UI.

You do know that "snap to" can be set selectively?

For instance, you can have "snap to grid" permanently off, and "snap to guides" permanently on.

Thanks. I know this. I just wish there was an indicator on the UI. This shouldn't be too hard for Adobe.

That would be a great feature suggestion to ask to Adobe

Yes it would. This is what my post is stating.

It's usually very apparent when it is turned on, which is the default, so you can mostly assume that it is on.

@westdr1dw's suggestion to hold down the Ctrl/Cmd key while moving an object is an excellent one, and I suspect is the way most people work.

Unfortunately I am not aware of any UI indicators that tell you the snap status.

I am sure you already know that Shift Ctrl ; toggles Snap on and off.

I know about the control key. I would love to see if it's on when I first open a document.
