Latest version of Photoshop but Program error while trying to open Camera Raw

I am told I need to enable Technology previews in Camera Raw but when I open Camera Raw from within Photoshop it will not open and gives me a program error. Here are the screen shots, one showing how to enable Technology Previews from the friend who is advising me and the other from my own machine, a Mac M1 with all of my software up to date as of today. I am not able to open Camera Raw. without the error and online helps are old as it says open preferences which now has been changed to 'open settings.'

Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
