Photoshop 2023 freeze, non recoverable, when tweaking curve

Probably late to the party , but me and my colleague experienced that on severall ocassions,we are on Macs using Wacoms, but he once out of desperation pressed real hard on both wacom buttons and hit on the table and it unfroze 😛

I couldn't replicate that probably because we use diferent wacom models but next time it happened to me I remembered: I pressed the equivalent to left click on wacom and at the same time right click on mouse, and it unfroze.

I guess if you're using just mouse (or just wacom) would be hard to replicate and not saying its a fix, but something to try next time it happens.

EDIT: I can confirm I have sucessfuly unfroze PS a couple times after my initial post using same "technique" after PS froze while tweaking a curves layer.

A system hang or freeze requiring a computer restart usually means a low level failure such as a driver (bad video card driver, etc), failing hardware (hard disk, video card, etc.) or damaged OS installation.

No issues creating, moving, or tweaking curves or points on my M1. Indeed, when PS crashes, first thing to do is reset preferences.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.  

Hi @KH24569105hyjs I've seen similar posts on M1/M2 Macs - resetting Photoshop preferences seems to resolve. Go to Photoshop/Preferences/General and click the reset button and restart Photoshop.
