Question

photoshop image distortion/glitchy

Hello, I've been having an issue with photoshop and premiere. Images/videos open with this type of glitch. I updated both programs, but it didn't work. If I try to use "Select Subject", it loads for a while and then it selects the entire image or it shows a message saying "there's no subject"

Thanks in advance for the help.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

That is definitely file corruption. Where are you saving your files? Are you saving directly to an external/server location?

Hey, @grega99503882. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. We've moved the post to discussions; I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Try these steps:

Go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to back up. (https://adobe.ly/3u7u84j)
macOS: Hold down the Option key in the Finder when using the Go menu. The library will appear below the current user's home directory.

Library > Preferences > Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2024 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2024.old)

This will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a new installation.

Let me know if it helps. Thanks!
