Problem: Switching from Type tool to Zoom tool via shortcuts

Whenever I finish editing a Type layer (and confirm changes), then try to switch to the Zoom tool (by hitting Z), it automatically takes me back to the Type tool.

It's responding as if I'm holding down Z (temporary Zoom), but I'm tapping the key.

Any help please?
