PS itself doesn't really snapshot anything. Yes, you can use the history panel and play it back, but the more steps you have in there, the slower PS gets and there are limits what it can play back. You'll realyl have mmore luck with simply using a screen capture software that records your screen as video or takes a snapshot every few seconds.
