Top 1 or 2 chancels deleting after saving and closing file

Hi everyone,

 

I use photoshop to do color separations for work and I have been occasionally having a small problem with photoshop deleting my top 1 or 2 channels from my file after i save and close the file. It doesnt seem to have any pattern to when it happens, just appears to be at random times and wont occur for months and then will start happening again. Since I am using this for work purposes it is very frustrating and often sets me back a bit when it happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I havent been able to find any fixes for this specific problem anywhere.

    Not all file formats support alpha channels or spot colour channels.... So what file format is in play and are you using Save or Export?

    Hi Stephen,

    im using multichannel mode 8 bits/channel for my separations, saving it in the photoshop format on a work server. I am not exporting this file or placing it anywhere else, I use a photoshop DCS 2.0 for placing and outputting. 

    I use this same format for all my photoshop separations daily and dont have an problem with them until this issue randomly happens 😞
