I am using Photoshop 25.3.1 on a Mac OS 14.1.1. When I attempt to scale an image using Transform/Scale, the bounding box enlarges when I drag it, but the image disappears in the enlarged area created by the box.

I don't understand it. Could you please post a screenshot of the problem with the Layers panel expanded and visible? That way, someone might be able to give you a meaningful explanation and solution.

Was this a one off, or can you repeat it?  The obvious question is did you have the correct layer selected?  I am sure that you did, but it has to be asked.  If this is a repeatable issue, please show us a full resolution screen shot of your entire workspace showing document window, layers panel and Options Bar with the layer selected and Free Transform under way.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
