Adobe Elements 15 Organizer want creation dates not modified dates

I am sick of iMovie and have decided to switch to Adobe Premier.  I need to take all my iMovie files and move them into adobe elements organizer to keep everything clean.  Unfortunately, when I bring the clip into the organizer it uses the date modified instead of the date created.  The date modified is when that file was uploaded to the computer originally (which many many movie clips have the same date).  I really want to see the Date Created in the organizer.  I am attaching some screenshots which hopefully will help!  Can someone help me?  Please???

Well its frustrating that I can't use the "date created" from finder somehow in the organizer.  You can see in my original post that the computer knows the date this video was created - I just can't get premier elements to know that date!!!   I did refer to your blog post, but that doesn't appear to apply for video.  And while your manual workaround does work - it will be very time consuming for the 630 GB of movie files that I have (probably thousands and thousands of clips)... so I can either spend countless hours manually updating the date, put the movies into organizer and ignore their dates, or try to find a different application that can handle this.

I bought premier elements as a stepping stone to Premier Pro - but I think I am going to have to try Final Cut.

Hi,

In the right Information panel (as seen in your screenshot), click on the Metadata accordion to expand it. Click on complete button to switch to complete metadata mode in case you see less information:

Here you will find info of both the dates.

Thanks,

Thanks for trying, but I did that - but for some reason both dates say the date modified from finder - not the date created.

Hi Kara,

As such there is no way to see a particular date/time in grid. There is a proper order to show date/time in grid. Please refer to 'Since there are numerous Date/Time fields, which value is shown in grid? ' section of my blog post: Photoshop Elements (PSE) knowledge base.: Various Date/Time Tags used in Elements Organizer.

That said, there is a workaround to it. Please try below steps with one or two videos and see if it works:

1. Select these video files, right click them and select 'Adjust Date and time for selected items..'

2. In the coming dialog select 'Change to match file's date and time' radio box.

3. Click on 'OK' button

Verify if above steps resolves your issue. If so, try it with a wider data set. If not, please do 'Edit->Undo' to revert the date/time changes.
