Hi All,

Trying to help a friend out who keeps getting the Interger of 50 to 8 error within preferences.

I've tried the solutions on google where you edit the registry but it doesn't exsist. I've put this down to it being purchased and downloaded from the windows store.

Can anyone shed some light on how I can possibly fix this.

Laptop is now fully updated to 1903 and photoshop has been reinstall.

Thanks

Aha! You need to refer to the official Adobe instructions, which give a different place to go for the Windows Store version. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/integer-50-8-required-closest-value-inserted-photoshop-elements.html

You're a star and I'm an idiot. I looked at that and completely missed that box where it clearly states about the folder. Thank you!

There's always a registry. What seems to be missing from it? Are you definitely in the right part (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE versus HKEY_CURRENT_USER) (Perhaps the Windows Store app looks somewhere else, but we haven't heard of that).  It may be necessary to upgrade.

The entire adobefolder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE - I haven't looked in local machine, not sure why I haven't. Will check that when I'm next on the machine. I did read somehwere else on a forum that they had the same issue and had to make the registry record and then apply the fix.
