I have a new iMac and is trying to install PSE 16 which I purchased. I keep getting the error message listed above. I have had two "chat" sessions which guided me to the "application manager update" its still have not worked, I have deleted the program and try re installing again following the link sent to me by Adobe. It does not work, I am now so frustrated, I also have LR 6 which I tried in the same manner with the same result. HELP!!!!! ANYONE!!!!

I assume you are referring to Photoshop Elements 2018 (v16)? Is this the download link you are using?

    http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PSE/16/osx10/PhotoshopElements_2018_WWEFDJ.dmg

what exactly happens when you double-click on the dmg package in Downloads. How far does it get with installation? Is the error message immediate?

Thanks for your response, Sorry It is PSE2018 , yes I used that link and it actually went through the installation process to the end, then I thought it would open, a few moments after  the error message came up. I did it three times, the same result and Lightroom the same, (almost to the end) then error message.

    Can you check the installation.

    Launch Finder and go to:

    Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Applications⁩ ▸ ⁨Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 ▸ ⁨Support Files⁩

Inside the Support Files folder check to see if the application is there. If it is, try double-clicking on Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor (or control-click and choose Open)

    Let us know what happens.
