Can I stop the auto catalogue?

Whenever I open new photos or videos for editing, I find afterwards that they have been added to my catalogue. Is it possible to stop this happening? I sometimes just want to use PSE14 for editing only.

    Look at the checkboxes on the bottom of the display you get when saving a file.

    If you check the 'save in the organizer' box, YOU decide to include the file in the organizer. If YOU don't check, the file is not included. That's not automatic. That is YOUR choice, and it is 'sticking' for the next save. You can change it for any new save.

    The only other way to 'import' a media file in a catalog is the 'watched folders' feature in the organizer.

    Could you give more info about your workflow so that other users can replicate your issue?
