Copy and Paste within same image

Hi Folks,

I make complicated Mandala's through PhotoShop Elements.

I have one that has 6 branches or petals. Each of these petals are the same. I completed one of the petals. Rather than 'redoing' each petal, is there a way I can copy the petal completed to the other location within the same image? I can't us Rubber Stamp because each petal is rotated about 20deg. to the one next to it. The Rubber Stamp only makes an exact copy without taking into account the rotation.

I'd like to copy a portion, rotate it about 20deg. and past it. Doing all this within the same image.

Since the petals are so complicated I'd hate to have to do each one manually. ;-(

Is something like this possible? And not overly complicated to do?

Best Regards,

Aaron

Correct answer MichelBParis

Did you try to first paste your selection on a new layer - (shortcut Ctrl J ) ?

To rotate that layer, menu Image >> free rotate layer.

Look into the tool bar in the bottom and select your angle.

Duplicate that layer and do as before.

Repeat for each petal.

Thank you.

No I have not tried that not being too familiar with 'layers'.

Perhaps it's time I learn I shouldn't have a problem with that. Was

just a bit lazy I guess.

I do understand your instructions. They are very informative, and step by

step.

I will give this a try. I was quite sure there was a way to do it but I

just wasn't familiar with the process.

Thank you very much Michel for your time and sharing your knowledge.
