Elements 2018 crashes since Windows 10 upgrade

Elements 2018 crashes upon opening since the recent Windows 10 upgrade in early May 2018. None of the posted solutions work. What's up? Are there updates? Please help.

I have uninstalled Elements 14 and Elements 2018 then reinstalled 2018. Still no luck. My PS CS5 v12 runs great. (what's that. . .2010?)

I am getting frustrated with the lack of solutions. I can't be the only one who is experiencing this.

Hey, Adobe, will you refund my Elements 2018 purchase and let me reload 14?

    Correct answer MichelBParis

For instance, this post a few minutes ago:

Problem parsing the JPEG data from Organiser to Editor

    or:

Photoshop Elements 2018 memory problems - unable to edit and save files

Search for the detailed step by step guide from ssprengel to edit the registry.

    Also, from Adobe:

Invalid Numeric Entry - An integer between 96 and 8 is required

The problem has various symptoms, but fixing the registry should solve your problem.

    Hi there.

I have Elements 12 but in March Best Buy "accidently" wiped my computer and I had to reinstall the program.  Organizer wont load but that hasnt seemed to make a difference when using editor. However, about 6 weeks ago I started getting error messages when I try to open pictures in editor.  It wont open most pictures at all saying there is a problem parsing the jpeg data.  I read your response to other users but I didn't understand it.  I have very little computer knowledge so I wondered if you could maybe dumb it down for me?

    Thank you

    Lana

Thank you Michael B for overlooking my frustration and directing me to an answer that worked. I need to take lessons in speaking KnowledgeBase so I can find these nuggets of wisdom on my own.

I just got a response from a user that recommended looking in the forum for others with a similar problem. Perhaps I just don't know the magic keyword that unlock this mystery within the KnowledgeBase. Found a bunch of problems but no solutions. Workaround by editing the registry? Really? That's a pretty nebulous recommendation. What would you suggest I edit? Can you tell me what the magic words might be?

You are not speaking to Adobe, just to other users like you.

Hey, Adobe, will you refund my Elements 2018 purchase and let me reload 14?

If you take some time to read the dozens of posts about the Microsoft issue, you'll see that PSE2018 has the same problems as PSE15 or PSE14.

The workaround to edit the registry should fix the problem for you.
