Elements 2018 crashes when exit

A few months ago I purchased and installed Elements 2018,  the editor only.  It worked great, without issue.  A week ago,  I got a new SSD drive,  and did a clean install of my Windows 7 Home Premium.  I did the important Windows updates,  then re-installed Firefox Browser,  MS Security Essentials , and  PSE 2018.  I didn't want to load too much into the system until we were sure it was stable.

Elements 2018 that was stable before now crashes every time I exit, IF I open and close an image and try to exit.  IF I just start then exit the program, no problem.   There is a popup window saying that PSE 2018 Editor has stopped working.  Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.  Problem details as shown below.

I would appreciate any help in getting this to work correctly, thanks.

Sorry that I missed that you were using Windows 7.  It could also be that you needed to restart the computer after updating the graphics card or you may have had a bad initial installation of Photoshop Elements.

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

If that doesn't work, you may need to use the registry fix here:

Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

I updated the graphics driver,  no change.

I looked at the registry fix, but that is for Windows 10 and I never received that sort of error message.   As stated above,  I am running Windows 7, forget to mention 64bit.

I uninstalled and re-installed Elements one more time,  and for the moment it seems to be working.  Perhaps it just needed to be installed with updated graphics driver already on the system ?

Thank you for pointing me towards a solution - hoping it is the fix.
