I'm used to photoshop with editing and designing newsletters and signs and business cards and things. How much design can you do with Elements? I don't need to be a graphic designer with it, just the basics. Is Elements mostly just for photo editing or can you make business cards and things as well?

I have made business cards for my wife.. To do that, I made a logo in Photoshop Elements with some text, saved this as a file.
Next, I downloaded a free template from Avery.com for Avery 8371 card stock.
Imported the logo and added suitable text.
You may find other programs to be more versatile. A good one is Greeting Card Factory DeLuxe. The templates are precise.
