Question

Images post-processed in Photoshop Elements 11 will not open when sent to my clients as an email attachment.

Here is my work flow:

1)  Take image with Nikon or Panasonic Camer

2)  Transfer image from camera to desktop computer  (Apple iMac)

3)  Open image in Photoshop Elements 11

4)  Post processing typically includes cropping, light adjustment, and minimal Unsharp Mask

5)  Save as to hard drive as .jpg with save to elements organizer checked and embed color profile, Adobe RGB (1998) checked as well.

6)  Saved selecting quality max at 12 and format of Baseline ("Standard"}

7)  Attach image to my email which I can see and send to third party.

😎  Third party cannot open jpg but instead observes a horizontal bar.  When the bar is clicked, get message that the file is empty.

When I attach an image from a third party and attach that image to my email, the receiver can open that image.  When I open that same third party image in my PSE 11 software and then save as is or perform some post-processing on it, it will not open by my receiver or client when sent as an attachment to my email.

I have checked my email provider (charter.net) and my email software (AppleMail) and both are working perfectly.  It is therefore an Adobe Photoshop Elements issues.

The problem began about 5 days ago for no apparent reason.  To my knowledge, I made to changes in the PSE 11 settings.

I will greatly appreciate any help in solving this very frustrating problem.

    Have you tried another e-mail client, e.g.> g-mail,  as a test?

    No I have not.  I have had numerous discussions with charter, my email provider and apple, the email software provider.  They cannot isolate the problem to their systems.  This and since all images not processed through my PSE 11 work fine in charter/apple mail, I have concluded it is a PSE 11 issue.  Moreover, I really don't want to change my email address.  Thanks.

    What happens if you first "zip" the image and then send it thru email?

    In other words compress the image into a zip file by right clicking on the image and clicking on Compress "name of your image"
