Organizer catalog issue

In Photoshop Elements 5, I edited a photo and when I try to save it I get the following message:

There was a problem accessing the Organizer catalog.  It may be in use by another process, or a disk error occurred.

I'm looking for a solution.

    Is it really the very old Elements 5?

    Which OS version are you on? Can you give more details?
