PE 2018 Copying photos to DVD

I have been unsuccessful in copying files to a DVD since upgrading to PE 2018.  I get a list of internal drives when using the Copy/Move command but have not got my removable disk drives to show up on the list.  What am I doing wrong?  I can copy paste them (Win 10) from the organizer to File Explorer successfully, so the drives are working fine.  I don't see that the Preferences has a flag to exclude removable drives.  I have performed this operation for years on many versions of the program.

Please advise.  Thanks, Kirk

    Hi Kirk,

With PSE 2018, write functionality to removable drive-CD/DVD from Organizer has been discontinued. So you can not Copy or Move files from Organizer to CD or DVD.

Although other removable drives continue to be supported as previous versions. And also read operations from CD/DVD are still valid.

You can use hard disk, USB drive, for example, for your purpose.

    Thanks

    Arshla,

It's a pity that the feature has been removed without any notice. The result is not only the loss itself (there are solutions) but the time wasted to find what is going on... There is still no pdf help file yet either: it has been said we may hope them in a few months, if that is so, the feature drop should be mentioned. When you try without knowing, a short text should be added to the dialog asking you to choose a removable media.

    KirkDebS,

Note that burning DVDs has been removed from Windows 10.

So do a web search for a free DVD burner software for your OS. I have found 'Express Burn' to do the job.

Things are changing fast: it's often easier and more affordable to share or backup via mail or inexpensive USB sticks.

DVD's are less expensive than USB sticks. Also, why read DVD's if you don't let people make DVD's?  BTW, I keep my Win 10 up to date and did just burn a DVD with photos on it so your statement is false.  I suspect Adobe has "looked into the future" of DVD's and killed a feature that all existing PC have just because.  This is a change not driven by making the user experience better but to make it worse.  I doubt Adobe will put a banner on the software stating "Now Featuring No DVD Writing Support".  Can't we agree that say 5 years after DVD and Blu-Ray are off the market, then would be the time for removing support.  I have no problem with trimming out old tech - I don't have mag tape, paper tape, punch card, nor floppy disk drives on my machines.  There can't be much difference between inside PE between output to USB vs DVD - the operating system handles that.

This is a stupid change and should be reversed on the next update.  I consider this the first strike against software I have used for many years.
