Photoshop Elements 15 stuck in Task Manager

I open an image with Photoshop Elements 15 and after closing it the process stucks in the Task Manager.

Now it is not possible to open any image with Photoshop Elements 15 again.

The only workaround is to kill the process in the Task Manager but this solution is not what i am looking for.

Is there another solution for this problem?

The OS is Windows 10 64bit

    Thanks for posting in Adobe forums.

    I can understand you are facing issue with the performance of Elements 15.

    Could you please try to create a new user account & test Adobe Elements in it . By this please check the behavior & performance of the software & confirm whether you are facing same issue in new user account or not.

    the problem persists with several user accounts and on other clients.
