Photoshop Elements 2019 Photo Downloader Stops Responding

I had been using an earlier version of Photoshop Elements and would use the get photos from camera/card reader to access my iPhone.  As the destination I select a network drive.  And it will pull all the photos/videos.  I moved to Adobe Bridge because the older photoshop wouldn't work with the newer Mac OS and access larger sized SD cards for when i did the same thing to pull photos from

Recently the Photo Downloader would hang partway through the task.  So I thought to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 2019.  lt too hangs up, and Mac OS reports it as not responding.  Some items that I tried that didn't work:

• Keeping the phone from locking, I would play a video.
• Keep the Mac from sleeping.
• Make sure I can access the networked drive in case that connection wasn't stable.

While we use editing features in Photoshop, in this case I want to pull all my photos from my iPhone (and occasionally an SD card) to a networked server and have it organized by shot date into various folders.  Any thoughts or suggestions?
