Question

Photoshop Organizer 19 and Mac Time Machine

Thanks in Advance

I am using a Mac and when I upgraded my system to Mojave, my older version of Elements crashed each time I tried to edit a picture.

I contacted Adobe Sales explained my problem and decided to purchase the latest version Elements 19 thinking that would fix my problem. I did that about 3 weeks ago but have had nothing but frustration especially with Organizer. My biggest problem when I upload a number of photos from a folder on my Mac and then select connect all files I get a message all connected. When I leave the program and try to open and edit an other picture I get a message have to reconnect that first picture to it's file I guess.

I notice in the string connected to that picture it states the original is somewhere in Time Machine. I have purchased an external drive and tried backing up my catalog to there but same problem exists.

I have tried for hours to get in touch with Adobe Support but without success so my question is, can I someway use elements to perform simple edits such as naming files and then save my edited files to my Mac Photo program which I find to be far superior to Organizer for handling files. I don't want to turn off Time Machine as I find that to be an excellent program to backup my Mac.

I appreciate any help in advance

Charlie

Mark not sure that App works with Elements 19. Have tried to download a couple of time and asks for default editor os something similar so I select Elements and nothing happens and then get a message try again later so will tomorrow.

Thanks anyway though

You will need to point it to PhotoshopElementsEditor

Applications\Adobe Photoshop Elements 17\Support Files\PhotoshopElementsEditor

I have tried and still nothing. One option is for Elements 12 which I quit using when I purchased 19 and the other just give you option of opening any elements but again nothing happens. Maybe I am doing something wrong but generally haven’t had problems with Apple Apps.

Again thanks though

Hi Charlie

There is no need to use Organizer. It is possible to edit directly in the Elements Editor from the Apple Photos app using extensions.

My blog article may be of interest.

Photos on Mac OS now permits the use of Extensions.  Go to this link for more information:

External Editors For Photos  in the App Store
