PSE 14, suddenly can't right click to open jpeg in editor

Hello, I recently unistalled an older version (10) since I've been using 14 for years now and suddenly, when I right click on a jpeg, PSE 14 opens but image does not display on screen. PSE launches but displays a blank gray screen. Images will open fine in PSE if I use FILE-->OPEN however. I've searched for solutions but perhaps I'm not wording it right. I even tried resetting my preferences, but that didn't help. Ultimately I would like to view images in Windows Photo Viewer, and edit them in PSE 14.  Please help. Thanks in advance, Mike
