PSE 15 CREATE crashing

I'm using the create function to create photo collages for a photo book

the default background is green ...

if I try to modify the background in any way PSE crashes and closes.

additionally

where can i check to see if there are any updates to 15 that may solve this issue

Please try clearing preferences once.

To do so, Keep Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys pressed while launching Editor. A dialog will pop up asking to delete settings file.

Say yes.

Let us know if issue persists.

command alt shift ??? and usually when launching it only takes seconds ...
