PSE 18 and Photomerge

I followed directions for using Photomerge:

1) Open & select desired pictures from the photo bin

2) Get into Guided

3) Click on Photomerge

All I see on my screen are various sample pictures supplied by Adobe, but my pictures do not appear for me to work on.

What am I missing?

    Bob,

    The pictures you are seeing are just big thumbnails (buttons...) to illustrate the desired effect. Just  consider them as menu elements to go further.

    You click on the image (=the button) corresponding to your type of photomerge, and then you can access the steps on the right panel to manage your opened fies (in the bottom photo bin).
