RAW files pentax k-70

i could not load raw-files to my PE14,thanks to this forum i changed to DNG and it worked.now my pentax k-70 is on the adobe-list of supported cameras.i tried to change to pef,but it does not work to load pef-files to PE14(i did update!)does anybody know why?thank you

Yes, your camera is too new.

The answers are here in this faq:

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Your camera requires the ACR version 9.8, and PSE14 can be updated only to 9.5 ans PSE15 to 9.7.

So, you are right to use the DNG raw format instead.

The 9.8 version of ACR is not yet available to PSE15; I suspect it will be updated soon.

In the meantime, if someone wants to edit .PEF files from the K70, they need to use the free DNGconverter mentioned in the above faq. It can batch convert a whole folder of PEF files to the DNG raw format that all recent Elements versions can read and edit.

I don't think so, but it's quite possible that a manual install would work.

I am reluctant to try that because that did work on older versions, but it seems that made other automatic updates for Elements problematic.
