Really neat 64bit add in color correcting filter

So I found the editor expert mode color correction in PSE2018 somewhat clunky. Expert mode does not even have have vibrance and you have to revert to quick mode to get it.

On the other hand the ACR mode, which is very powerful, is not easy to access from organizer. You have to select directory and files manually.

So I was searching for new 64 bit filters and plug ins (the old 32 bit filters do not work). I came across a really good one called C3C version 1.5 (google that name). It has just about all the color controls you want including clarity, vibrance, tint and individual color adjustment sliders. Shadow, highlights, etc  It also has an auto cast remover based not only on neutral grey, but also on sky blue, and grass green (as well as skin). All on one screen! Its a freebie and there is no installation involved. Just place the 64 bit version in the Editor Plug In directory. Really fun to play with.

I do agree and wish that  the 'vibrance' feature would be accessible directly from the editor in 'expert' mode. That said, switching to and from expert to quick mode is not longer than switching menus. Even for advanced users, using the 'quick' mode may be very useful.

    Very true.

I am not sure Adobe is interested in enabling the organizer to choose to open jpegs directly in the ACR module.

    Tips:

That said, once you have opened a jpeg in ACR from the editor, the next time you open it from the organizer, it opens in the ACR.

You can open many jpegs at the same time from the editor (I frequently open 20  to 50 at the same time). For instance, I have imported a big batch of jpegs from my phone. From the editor I go the folder, select all and open in ACR. In the ACR dialog, I select all in the filmstrip, add just any small change to all (noise for instance) and click 'Done'. Now all those files in the organizer will open in ACR.

I also strongly recomment the 'Edit in acr' script in the external add-on Elements+.

You can edit any layer in the ACR and back with your favourite tools. Useful for jpegs of for layers in your psd/tiff files. Missing tools in the Elements ACR version are also recovered ("raw corrections").
