Question

Reconnect missing files

I accidentally disconnected most of my files.  Each thumbnail has a question mark in the upper corner.  I have tried most of the suggestions I've read and nothing is working.  I'm not a computer whiz, but can manage.  Anyone?

    Hi,

I accidentally disconnected most of my files.

Can you please specify the steps you did due which the files got disconnected?

Providing a screenshot of the window would also be helpful. Keep one such photo selected, keep the Information panel on right hand side option, such that the location field under General accordion is visible for this selected file.

The case you are referring generally happens when you change the location of files from outside of Organizer but the same has not been updated in Organizer.

In meanwhile, check this article for more help: Reconnect Missing Files in Photoshop Elements Organizer - Digital Scrapbooking HQ

    Thanks

I'm not sure it I hit copy/move or export to new file from the File drop down.

Those are commands issued from the organizer, they can't produce 'missing' or 'disconnected' files.

That happens when the files have been moved/deleted/renamed from the explorer or finder. Or if the drive has been assigned a new letter, or...

Before trying to reconnect, it helps a lot to try to search for the missing file names in the explorer or finder and to check if they are where the catalogs has registered them.
