Reinstall Photoshop Elements after iMac crash

Hello!

My iMac crashed, all programs have to be re-installed.

Two Adobe-employees (phone and chat) gave me the same link to download the program again (Photoshop Elements 10 version) but when I click 'INSTALL', I get an error.

The link I got was: Download Photoshop Elements 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, and 7

I used the Mac OS X-file (Photoshop Elements 10)

I could download it but installing was impossible

I still have the serial number of course.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you

Lieven

Oh I see! Yes, serial number starts with 1057.
So I can buy the upgrade without having Photoshop Elements 10 installed on my computer?
Just by entering the serial number?

Yes PSE10 does not need to be installed. I would recommend installing the PSE 2018 trial to ensure it works on your Mac. If you then decide to purchase the upgrade there is no need to uninstall and re-install. The trial is identical to the full version; so you would simply license with the new serial number & old serial number.

“Install” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk imag"

"“Install” is on the disk image “PhotoshopElements_10_WWEFDJ.dmg”. Firefox downloaded this disk image today at 11:00 from trials3.adobe.com."

You could try an installation via terminal which launches automatically. I have tried this with other versions so it may work for PSE10. Go to your dmg download and right-click (control-click) on the red Install icon inside the download folder choosing:

Show Package Contents >> Contents >> MacOS

You should see a black install icon.

I double-clicked on that black icon and agreed to open an application downloaded from the net, and the installation started and completed OK.

If it works create a dock icon.

When you have the Editor application open, right-click (control-click) on the dock icon and choose:
    Options >> keep in Dock.

You can then launch in future from the dock with a single click. You can do the same for Organizer.
It's a quick trick to bypass the welcome screen and having to choose Photo Editor, Video Editor or Organizer.
