I am cropping an oval picture and need to save it.

I do not see the red check and am not able to save the picture.

How can I save it.

I am using the eliptical marguel tool.

. . . or make sure the background color is set to black.  (The default is white.)  Click X to toggle between the two.

Create your oval with the marquee tool, then inverse the selection (Ctrl+Shift+I) and press Delete.

Drag the elliptical marquee over your image

Press Ctrl+J (cmd+j) to create a transparent layer

Click the eyeball on the background layer to hide

From the menu choose:

Layer >> New Fill Layer >> Solid Color >> OK

Choose black and click OK

Drag the fill layer below layer 1 so that it shows through the transparency – see image.

Apply the Elliptical Marquee tool to include what you wish to retain in the outline, then go to Image menu>Crop.

Edit > Select inverse > Delete

Then use the crop tool or resize the canvas if you wish.
