Saving edited files

I import a photograph from my 'pictures', edit it, then attempt to save it in the same format, ie jpeg, back into pictures.  The program will no longer do this; it says that the file does not exist.  This is a new problem; I used to be able to do it.  I use Windows 10.

Thank you for responding, Brian; I really appreciate it.  I have finally worked it out that my problem was caused by Windows Defender Virus Protection being a bit over-protective, not letting me change my own files within my own computer.  It comes under “Controlled folder – access blocked”, preventing what it deems to be “unauthorised changes”.

    Thanks again,

    Joan

    Hi,

Which version of PSE are you using?

When saving, do you use "Save" or "Save As"?

Do you change the name when saving?

Do you mark it for inclusion in the organizer?

    Brian
