Total mess reinstalling OSE 11

I am trying to reinstall PSE 11 after my PC needed to get Windows 10 Pro 64 bit reinstalled.  I shill have my original box which has both PC & OS version disks & the serial number is on back of box.

I don't want the Premiere Trail version as I will never need it.  It seemed to install OK but the next thine I tried to start program I get message Qtcore4.dll is missing.  The suggested solution is that I try a reinstall.  This started OK I said I selected PSE & entered by key number.  After a couple of minutes I get the message to insert disk 1..  I don't have a disk 1 & never have had & as I said about one is the OS version, the other Windows.

I checked & saw that the previous uninstall didn't work correctly.

I looked in the Windows files & found that under programs (32 bit) it had Premiere Elements listed, as 958 MB  & under Programs 64 bit it had 2 folders labeled Elements 11 Organizer which is 611 MB & another that  says Photoshop Elements & this folder is empty.

How do I fix this mess?

    Hi,

    Qtcore4.dll is part of thee organizer  so the best thing is to repeat the installation.

    I don't mean to insult your intelligence but I have given some detailed instructions for clarity.

    Is your Windows 10 fully up to date?

    Step 1 is to uninstall Photoshop Elements and Premiere elements (if it is installed)

    This is best done by going to the Windows Start -> Settings -> Apps

    Look for Photoshop elements - click on it and select uninstall

    Repeat for Premiere elements

    It is essential to uninstall both otherwise the organizer does not get uninstalled

    Step 2 Install Photoshop elements - if you don't want the trial version of premiere elements don't click that button when you get returned to the initial screen after Photoshop elements is installed.

    Insert the CD and if it doesn't auto start, go to file explorer and double click on CD drive

    Click on the button to install PSE 11

    By default, it will be installed under c:\Program File(x86)\Adobe which is where 32bit application normally go.

    Step 3 Try running it

    Please report any error messages that you get

    Good luck

    Thanks for the effort for a detailed answer. Unfortunately this didn't work because the uninstall tag is no where to be found.  Adobe or Photoshop doesn't appear on PC's menu's anywhere or list of installed programs. They do appear in the 2  Windows folders mentioned.

    I looked again inside the folders I originally mention in my first post & found that the file reported missing QtCore4.dll is indeed in the folder.  But this won't help since I can't get any part of either program to open or reach an uninstall tab.

    I'm thinking along the lines of deleting the files that I do see under Windows and any other place that Adobe files are stored & then doing another install from my disk or from a install file which I could download from web if this is possible?  What do you recommend?

    Hi,

    If PSE doesn't appear on any of the lists, how did you manage to start it to get the error message?

    If you try and install again, does it try to uninstall first?

    When you install PSE, it writes files to several folders and also updates the registry - doing a manual uninstall is always a problem.

    Rather than delete the files I suggest you try renaming the folders to start with: -

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer  -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer - old

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11 -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11 - old

    Similar action for Premier elements - I can't be precise as I don't have it installed

    Then try the install again
