Why has the text tool stopped operating in Photoshop Elements 12?

My text tool was operating without a problem. I closed down then switched off my computer. When I turned on Photoshop the next time the text tool did not work.  An error message come up " Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized."  I have absolutely no idea what that means or how to solve this problem.  Can anyone please help? Julia

    Hi Rosa,

    Thanks for posting in Adobe forum.

    I understand you are facing issue with Text Tool in Adobe Elements 12.

    I request you to please create a new user account with administrator access & test Adobe Elements in it .

    Please let us know whether you are facing same issue there or not.

    Thank you so very much for your excellent help in solving this problem, I have spent three days trying to find information or someone who would help me.  After fifteen minutes with you on the phone you not only isolated the problem but also found a solution to it. You are a star.

    Hi Anwesha for your reply but I am still having the same problem.  I am not computer competent  so need a much simpler answer.  also if I purchase Photoshop Elements 15 am I still going to have the same error occur.

    Any help would be appreciated.
