Cancelled a Media Consolidation - all copied files deleted immediately. Why?

Hey community,

This morning, I was running a project consolidation on a large 30-minute doc. It got about halfway through the consolidation and I could see all files copied to the directory I wanted. I had to cancel the consolidation because of another pressing task, and now all of those copied files disappeared.

Is this a feature?! Why would it not preserve the media it had already copied? Is there a way to recover it so I don't have to do it all over again?

My understanding is if you cancel the consolidation, Premiere is wanting to clean up after itself and removes everything that is part of the cancelled job. The reasoning: imagine you start a consoldation and realize you set something wrong, so you cancel and fix the setting, you're likely not going to go clean up the canceled job, so Premiere just does it for you so you don't have a bunch of orphaned large files taking up space.

AFAIK there is no setting to preserve media already copied.
