Export overwrites by default

I have worked exactly the same for years and suddenly my process has had to change because of this strange change which occurred recently. I press Ctrl M, then click export. I usually have multiple exports from the same sequence and I want them to all end with _1, _2, etc. Premiere always did this automatically before and now, instead, it overwrites the first export without prompting. It will only promp me if I click on the field, and then when I click "keep both" it will fix the name to have the _1. The extra click I have to do is annoying, but it's even worse if I forget and completely wipe an export that I haven't uploaded yet. I already spent a while with chat support and their only suggestion was remote access to my computer, which i'm not willing to do.
