Glitch with channel blur effect

I applied the channel blur effect on the adjustment layer and a random dark box popped up.

Is your AL the same resolution as the sequence? Anchor point?

Bear in mind, Channel Blur is an obsolete effect.

Please, When posting screenshots make sure you show the entire panel with all its properties.
