MXFs from C300 unable to export/watch/sync files into Multicam

Good Morning Adobe Community,

I'm having trouble using Premier with the MXF files from my Canon C300.

My system is:

Mac
Processor: 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
Graphics: Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB

Memory: 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

OS: Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313)

The issues I'm having are the following:

  • Extremely slow Exporting
  • Inability to watch videos on Timeline
  • Inability to effectively create Multi-Cam sequences
  • Incredibly slow performance overall, to the point the program is unusable.

It seems that whenever I'm using Premier with MXF's, my drive keeps endlessly spinning but nothing will get done in the program. The drive will make a racket just sitting there, doing nothing. I can't use these files in my project, I can't export anything (for a 1-minute video it told me that 10 hours would be my export time) and I can't seem to avoid anything via Proxies either.

*I've already tried switching OFF the Auto-Generation of Waveforms during Import as well as using the Wrench to turn off Audio Waveforms on my timeline as other boards on the internet had suggested I try.

Why won't premier work with my MXF's from a Canon C300?

I've been doing this for years and never had a problem before. The MXF's are 3840x2160 in resolution and none are longer than a few minutes (no hour-long takes or anything crazy).

Super frustrating... any tips? Do I need to use a previous version?

HI @bmckenna08,

I read your notes. Did this used to work as expected? Which version was that? Have you tried transcoding the footage or creating proxies? I hope the community can help. Sorry for the issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
