Playback judders briefly but only just when I press In, Out or Marker

Weird behaviour here. Playback judders briefly BUT ONLY the moment when I press In, Out or Marker during playback. Media formats are all the same as always. This goes only for the source monitor. Works fine within the sequence (which uses just the same media...). Any ideas? Thanks
