I've been reading everything. Tweaking all of the settings and Im about to pull out my hair.

i am using a dell g5 i7 8750h 32gb ram with a 1060 gpu. I've updated OS, software, gpu and I also used an external ssd to improve the performance on my laptop. (Device management)

i am still experiencing such horrible lag when played back and I've been paying so much money to use this program for over a year. I don't want to export each file individually so I can just edit on my phone. I want to improve on this program but it is not working out.

ive already deleted cache. Proxies are helpful but I feel it isn't needed even when playing back at 1/8 of a resolution.

I am running out of ideas and the forums just get older and have become obsolete to even dive in because of the updates.

please help me or direct me to a better solution. I understand I can upgrade to a better laptop but even on my desktop playback is not the greatest. (I5 8600k 1070)

i just want to improve on the program.

I just learned about codec. For anyone going through the same issues I was using h264 which is a compressed file. Because it is a compressed file it will decompress in the background using your resources to playback at the same time.

I have been doing this for over a year and been having the limitation of editing like this for forever. However, now i need help with decompressing the file.
