Question

Premier Pro Save Files are hidden on my computer.

Another mystery. For some reason my Premier Pro edit save folders are hidden on my computer. They only show when I click on the file name in Export to indicate where to save the file. Any clue what's going on here?

Also - Is there any way to remove MP4 Clips from the Project Edit Window or save them to a file - without exporting? (Exporting has been reducing quality).

Thank you.

Thanks Ann. I'm aware of where to choose where the file goes in the process. However, I cannot find the files if Documents if I search so I can transfer them to a UBS to take to work.

Exporting reducing MP4 to MP4 quality is a new thing, and I haven't changed any settings....

Last item first ... if exporting has been reducing quality, you need to change the settings for the export.

H.264 media, exported to H.264, can show this especially if the bitrate settings are low. Drag/drop an original file onto the icon for MediaInfo on your desktop, and in that applet, check the Mbps setting for the file. After exporting from Premiere, do the same thing. If you get a lower number, up the settings for Mbps in the Export dialog.

Or change to an intraframe codec like Cineform, DNxHD/R, or ProRes.

Where your project files go is set in the Project settings dialog. As is where your autosaves go. And ... I do hope you use the autosaves only as a last-chance backup, not as a replacement for routine manual saves and every so often, iteritave save/as moving on to the new project file.

You determine not Premiere where your saved files are stored.

You cannot save a file without exporkting.
