Question

Problem with Program Monitor freezing when going through a cut (v.2023.6 - v.2024.2).

I've tested all upcoming versions of Adobe Premiere Pro 2023, 2024, Beta 2024.2, and Beta 2024.3.

The most stable turned out to be 2023.5, especially with the (Removed) option enabled, everything works smoothly, and the picture does not crumble or stratify.

And also Beta 2024.2, but here the (Removed) cannot be enabled because with version 2023.6, Adobe supposedly solved the problem of flaking images (screen tearing). Now we are faced with another more terrible one: a general loss of performance on all systems.

I would return the viewing engine from 2023.5 back, because the screen tearing problem was easily solved through (Removed) , and we would eliminate the Program Monitor speed degradation.

I concluded that the problem occurs exclusively during playback due to a jump on the timeline to another clip. If there are several of these clips and we move on the timeline with the "J," "K," and "L" keys, we can identify the problem VERY quickly. If there are not many effects and plug-ins on the timeline, then even a basic Lumetry or adjustment layer with color correction can make Premiere Pro hang for a few seconds. The CPU load on the Premiere Pro side I have roughly soars to 40-70%, sometimes up to 100%, and the video card load rarely drops from 70-100%.

In version 22.6 - 23.5, everything works perfectly, and the load on the processor is not higher than 7-15%, on the video card, not higher than 20-40%, even with accelerated viewing.

This is true for setting the program monitor as the FULL resolution in 4K.

Please solve the problem. There was screen tearing on NVIDIA cards for several years, but I just switched DirectX to OpenGL (DX.DisableDirectXDisplay to "true"), and everything was fine.

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700, 16 cores.
Graphics Processor: Nvidia GTX 1650 Super, 4GB
RAM: 32GB DDR4.

Main SSD: 1TB NVMe Samsung 970 EVO Plus for application and project.
Video: H.264 media files Canon AVC, Lumetry only, no plug-ins or effects.

Sorry 2024.5 in the beginning — is 2023.5 off course.

The interface you are discussing is not approved by Adobe, and should not be used without a specific request from an Adobe tech.

Ok thanks Myer, what do you recommend I do?
