Projects get corrupted and autosaves are deleted

For about a week now I have a wierd Problem that is screwing my whole Work, so I´m looking for help big time!
I have the Problem that randomly my Premiere projects get corrupted, aka I can´t open them and the projectfile become 0 Bytes.
The super wierd thing now is, that at the same time all projects in the autosafe folder just disappear, wich means all hope for reopening the project or an older version seems lost.
On top of that, sometimes the videosfiles I used in the project get corrupted as well, and can´t either be opened via Videoplayer anymore, or are also suddenly 0 Bytes.
So far all of this happened to projects on an external SSD von Sandisk, wich is connected to a Macbook Pro.
Right now I´m just lost because it happens super randomly to some of my projects and I don´t know if its a problem with the Adobe software or with the Hard Drive.

Any help or idea would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Correct answer Carlos Ziade

first of all backup everything.

try to copy all your projects and assets to a local drive.

Better edit on local drives and do backups on externals ...

For your external drive, check scratch disks, storage, health, etc...

thx for the awnser.
I couldn´t 100% identify the problem, but I copied everything to a new hard drive and since then I got no new problems, so I guess it was really just a faulty hard drive.
