Replaced footage in Bin reverts to old footage after saving and closing Premiere

I've created an edit with temporary preview footage from a library I created on adobe stock.

The client then licensed and sent me the files.

With Replace Footage I swapped out all the preview files in the bin for the licensed files. Now when I save and close the project and then reopen again, all the files in the bin have been reverted to the preview-files from the library.

I keep having to replace the footage in the bin with the licensed files every time I open the project and need to render the video.  Is there any solution to this? Replacing the preview files directly in the library is not possible

I'm on an m2 max macbook pro with MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1

Using Premiere Pro version 24.1

Move the socalled preview files to a different disk.

I tried making the preview files offline first and then replace them with the licensed footage and it STILL reverts back to the preview file

@Ann Bens In the bin i right-clicked on the footage and selected Replace footage, which I then replace with a file on my disk. The preview files were added from a CC library and somehow it reverts back to those links every time i close/open the project

@Glenda29038675honx I cleared all the cache and saved the project with a new name, the issue still persists unfortunately

How did you replace footage?

Hello,

I deleted all the cache files and it still opens the project with the preview files

I am assuming you are clearing your media database and cache.    I can't explain it from a diagnostic perspective, but from a solution perspective:  have you tried saving your project with a new name (using Save As instead of just save)?   I am wondering if it will be resolved with a name change.

Have you tried dumping the cache files after you replace the files? Before opening the project again?
